Recording Acoustic Guitar and Reflection

 Hi!!

Today I recorded the acoustic guitar for my track!

Everything went as planned, which I am very glad to say! My friend learnt and played the acoustic guitar section whilst I was in the control room recording them. It did take a few takes to get it right, but we did in the end! Below is a photo of the setup:

I had the two C2's and the XM8500 set up as planned in a previous blog post to capture the room and the fingering of the plucks. In post-production, I slightly flex-timed the audio clip so it would be more in time with the metronome. I then added a compressor and a spring reverb to give it more of the "Portishead" feel, despite many of them not having an acoustic guitar; it serves as a reliable and textural backbone to the track during the verses and chorus.

That's all really! Luckily, I had no queries when recording the guitar.

In the next one!

-D.
